BODEGAS GUARDIOLA is a familiar business founded in 1850 by Francisco Guardiola Jiménez. It was firstly placed in a place near to Jumilla called Cañada del Judío. The family had here grown the Monastrell wine variety for years.

Some years later, it was built the first winery in the city of Jumilla, placed in the street called Ramón y Cajal. This winery had the old style of construction of that age and was a hold-mill attached to the familiar house itself. It produced wines and oils from the family farms and other farmers who were paid in cash or by the former maquila system. With the advent of electricity, José García Cerezo machined the cellar. Until then all work had been done by hand.

From then until now, six generations of winemakers are dedicated to growing grapes and making wines of Jumilla, with a single maximum: the quality of the product. Our family has been passed down generation after generation this principle together with the love for their land and the secret of winemaking. This tradition and forward-looking approach have made BODEGAS GUARDIOLA one of the leading companies of the Jumilla D.O.

Currently, our winery is the fourth installment that the family has built. Millions have been invested to adapt the company to the new demands of the markets. We have invested in technology in system development, production and bottling of wine, to make possible to continue giving the customer the quality of product he or she demands. And this is thanks to what we have learnt for years. For the future, family members and workers will continue to stand behind the quality of its grapes and wines, involved in the respect for the environment and the needs of the consumers.
