Kernel Export will invest 1.5 million euros in biogas plant

Technology will be supplied by the Israeli group Ludan, with works beginning in September

The farming company Kernel Export has launched the construction of a new biogas plant in its premises at Los Alcázares. Forecasted investment amounts to 1.5 million, for a power generation of 370 kW according to firm representatives. Engineering services will be provided by Ludan, a multinational corporation specializing in renewable energies that built the biogas plant of the Estrella de Levante brewery in Murcia.

Kernel Export plans on beginning construction in September, once all licenses have been awarded.  IMIDA (Murcian Institute for Farming Research and Development) will be in charge of analyzing how to best utilize the energy of vegetable waste (biomass) and determining which materials -fruit and vegetable product waste - would contribute to optimize biogas production.
